This week we got a free afternoon on Monday and it was a beautiful day so we decide to go to the Teleferico. This is a cable car that takes you up into the mountains and gives you an amazing view. This was my second time up in the Teleferico so if some of the pictures look familiar that is why. It was still amazing the second time though and thanks to Colin I have some more great pictures.
Esta semana conseguimos una tarde libre ellunes y era un día hermoso así que decidimos iral Teleferico. Éste es un teleférico que le tomapara arriba en las montañas y le da una visiónasombrosa. Ésta era mi segunda vez para arribaen el Teleferico tan si algunas de las imágenesparecen familiares por eso. Todavía sorprendía la segunda vez sin embargo y las gracias a Colinque tengo más imágenes geniales.
We invited over our new friends Julia, Emanuel and Youri to dinner this past friday night and went out after. It was a blast we went to a club in Plaza Foch called Bungalow 6, a bar where you can find all the gringos in Quito. It had three floors and something for just about everyone. On saturday we went to another Liga game where we got soaked from the rain but we won! The night taught me that I do need a proper rain jacket though. When we returned we got hot cocoa and watched some TV shows. On Sunday we prepared for our week of classes and went to the supermarket to buy candy to bribe the kids.
Invitamos sobre nuestros nuevos amigos Julia, Manuel y Youri a la cena este pasado el viernes por la noche y salimos después. Era una ráfagaque fuimos a un club en la plaza Foch llamada Bungalow 6, una barra donde usted puede encontrar a todos los gringos en Quito. Tenía tres pisos y algo para apenas alrededor de todo el mundo. ¡El sábado fuimos a otro juego de Liga donde conseguimos empapados de la lluvia pero ganamos! La noche me enseñó que necesito una chaqueta apropiada de la lluvia sin embargo. Cuando volvimos conseguimos el cacao caliente y miramos a algunas showes televisivo. El domingo nos preparamos para nuestra semana de clases y fuimos al supermercado a comprar dulces para sobornar a los niños.
This week for fun we were invited to go to a salsa club on Thursday by Julia and Youri. Colin and I were so excited that we practiced some steps ahead of time. Unfortunately though the club would not let us in unless we had our passports or a color copy of our passports of which we had neither. Instead we ended up going to Plaza Foch again. We started off at a club called The Attic where we were the only few people there and then ended up at Bungalow 6 again. It was another fun night out with our friends and some salsa music played at the club so my practice did not go completely to waste. We will probably attempt to go back to the salsa club another time.
Esta semana por diversión nos invitaron a ir a un club de salsa el jueves por Julia y Youri. Colin y yo estábamos tan emocionados que practicamos algunos pasos antes de tiempo. Por desgracia, aunque el Club no nos dejaron entrar a menos que teníamos nuestros pasaportes o una copia a color de nuestros pasaportes de los cuales no teníamos ninguno. En vez de eso, terminamos yendo a la Plaza Foch de nuevo. Comenzamos en un club llamado el ático donde éramos las únicas personas allí y luego terminamos en Bungalow 6. Fue otra noche divertida con nuestros amigos y algo de salsa música jugada en el Club, así que mi práctica no ir completamente a perder. Probablemente intentaremos volver al Club de salsa en otro momento.
On Friday we finally met some of the Ecuadorian volunteers at the center. They were really nice and invited to take us out to bars where Ecuadorians go out to some time. We were so tired from the week on Friday though that we just stayed in and watched some episodes of Reno 911. On Saturday we went to the south side of the city and saw a public rap concert at a skate park. It was interesting, I don't like rap music but it was still fun to go to. In the night time we went out to Plaza Foch for a drink and got some poutine from a Canadian restaurant.
